SUMMARY


Supervise and coordinate activities of employees performing fabrication of raw materials, parts and fabricated steel by performing the following duties.





ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



+ Follows instructions outlined by the Team Leader.


+ Interpret Shop drawings, cutting list, weld procedures, etc.;


+ Assign and oversee employees to essential job functions to mantin sequence of materials and production status;


+ Assist employees in resolving work and production problems;


+ Utilize knowledge of equipment and procedures used in fabrication production to product output;


+ Communicates with Plant Manager, General Foreman, Foreman and Team Leader to coordinate work assigments utilized in fabrication production,


+ Enforces safety regulation;


+ Repors production and performance deficiencies to management so that appropiate action may be taken.


+ Other duties may be assigned.



Supervisory Responsibilities:


Directly supervise 10- to 25 employees in various fabrication departments. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning and directing work.





QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Should be familiar with AWS, AISC standards.





SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS



+ Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, company correspondence, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals . Ability to write correspondence to communicate and make reports effectively. Be able to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors and other employees and/or officials of Company.


+ Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.


+ Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


+ Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS


Occasionally grips materials and tools using 10lbs of force; Frequently climb steps up to 18 inches in height; Occasionally performs repetitive postures such as standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping and crawling; Occasionally works in area with confined access; Frequently utilizes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and focus adjustments; Frequently required to hear and communicate verbally.
